Jeff Murphy - Lead Pastor
Jeff and his wife Christy started MyChurch in 2009. Jeff loves connecting with people who are far from God and helping them find their way back to Him by breaking down the typical "barriers" of faith. He is the proud father of Allie, Ashley, JD and Murphy Dog. When he's not leading MyChurch or spending time with his family, he's probably spending his time outdoors.
Justin Probst - Executive Pastor
Justin left his teaching and coaching career to help launch MyChurch. He and his beautiful wife, Denise, are a great asset to our team. Justin serves as the Executive Pastor, which includes teaching, strategy and business administration. He loves baseball and the Atlanta Braves, reading a good book, and traveling. In addition, he is a master cornholer and will compete with anyone to prove it.
Jeffery May - Worship Pastor
Jeffery grew up in Statesboro, Georgia riding cutting horses on his family's farm. He married his college sweetheart, Laura, in November of 2008 and soon after moved to Columbus to join the MyChurch team. He serves as the Worship Pastor leading the Sunday morning worship experiences as well as the Creative Arts Team. He loves being outside, grilling, being around friends, and country music.
Brandon Whitis - Connections Pastor
Originally from Lexington, Kentucky, Brandon and his lovely wife, Brooke, were relocated to Columbus three years ago with the military. They attended MyChurch reluctantly on launch Sunday and haven't left since. They love that MyChurch shows so much grace and wants to help people come back to Christ. Brandon now serves as the Growth Groups Director making sure that every member of the church has an outlet for community. He and Brooke have one son named Briar who is hanging out with Jesus and another adoptive son waiting for them in Ethiopia. They also have two dogs named Buoy and Bella. Brandon enjoys spending time on Lake Harding and long summers in the South that give them more time on the water. He and Brooke are also a huge part of the One Less initiative that is underway at MyChurch and are passionate about taking the Gospel to the forgotten children of the world.
Travis Hester - Staff Intern
After learning about MyChurch from a Chick-fil-a drive-thru, Travis began getting involved. He currently serves as the Staff Intern serving in many areas of ministry including facilitating the God Plunge and MyChurch Connect. Prior to MyChurch, Travis served as a Youth Pastor and Associate Pastor for six years in Savannah, Georgia. He has also worked in Corporate America for the last twelve years. He has a wonderful wife named Sharon, who was his high school sweetheart and three high-energy, amazing kids-Andalyn, Anthony and Arnae. Travis has a passion for church planting and loves anything sports-related. In fact, he is a die hard basketball fan, usually rooting for teams that others refuse to cheer for including the LA Lakers and the Duke Blue Devils.
Ian Allen - High School Director
Ian grew up in what he calls, the wonderful town of Snellville, Ga, but in 2003, he moved to Columbus to attend school at CSU. After completing the five year plan, he married his beautiful wife, Jenna. They have been serving at MyChurch in various ways from the beginning, but in the fall of 2010, Ian officially became the director of SWITCH, the High School ministry. He also currently works at River Road Elementary during the week teaching our future leaders (aka 5th grade). Ian loves the beach and will gladly stay at anyone's beach home who offers it up. He also enjoys singing in the shower and playing drums on his steering wheel.
Josh Harrison - Family Pastor
Kelsey and Josh are incredible role models for parents and kids. They do an outstanding job leading our MyKIdz K-5th ministry and volunteers. They are both from North Georgia and have been living in Columbus since they were stationed here with the Army. Kelsey and Josh have 2 precious kids of their own- Aiden (5, who was adopted recently) and Jocelyn (1). Kelsey loves reading, writing, and crafting. Josh loves sports, movies, and great food. The Harrisons also love traveling, being outdoors, exercising, and playing games together.
Denise Probst - MyTotz Director
Denise serves as MyChurch's MyTotz Director. She was born and raised in Columbus where she met her husband and MyChurch's Executive Pastor, Justin. They have been married for six years and have a Miniature Schnauzer named Lexi. Denise loves singing, babies, Coca-Cola, daily reruns of Friends, Phase 10, and falling asleep on the couch on Friday nights :)
